Overview
You can add users to a project at any stage — during initial set-up, or any time afterwards from the project settings. QNOPY also supports adding external users from outside your organisation, such as contractors or third-party data collectors, in a limited role.
Adding users during project set-up
When creating a new project, you can add team members as part of the set-up flow. See the Project Set-Up article for full details on this process.
Adding Users
Once a project exists, you can add users at any time from within the project:
- Log in at https://app.qnopy.com/portal/en/login, go to My Projects, and open the project you want to manage.
- Go to Project Settings and click the Users tab.
- Click Add Member.
- Search for and select the team member you want to add.
- Assign them a role:
- Standard user — Full read and write access to the project. Can edit data from the web portal and change project settings.
- Limited user — Can upload data from the mobile app but cannot edit data from the web portal or change project settings.
- Click Save.
Adding External Users
You can add External Users to your projects from either the project Users page or via the Assign User option in the Actions menu on the My Projects page.
From the Project Users Page
- Open your project and go to Project Settings → Users.
- Click Add User.
- In the user selection dropdown, choose External User — this is the first option in the list.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to add.
- As long as they have a QNOPY account linked to that email, they will be assigned to the project.
When you select External User, you will be prompted to enter the email address of the user you want to add. As long as the user has a QNOPY account associated with that email address, they will be assigned to the project.
From the My Projects Page
You can also assign an external user to one or more projects directly from the My Projects page without opening each project individually:
- On the My Projects page, select the checkboxes next to all the projects you want to assign the external user to.
- Click Actions in the top right and select Assign User.
- In the user dropdown, select External User.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to add and confirm.
