How to view, organise, and take action on events in your QNOPY project
What is an event in QNOPY?
An "Event" in QNOPY is created each time a form is filled out in the field or scheduled from the web portal. The Events tab inside your project is where you can view, manage, filter, and take action on all your project events.
If you're having trouble finding an event, be sure to read through some of the common explanations below that explain why this might be:
Understanding what you see on the Events page
By default, the Events page shows events that have already taken place. If you're looking for an event and can't find it, it may be because of one of the following reasons:
The event is scheduled in the future
QNOPY lets you schedule events in advance. These won't appear in the default view. To see them, click Event options and select View future events. To return to the regular view, click Event options again and select View past events.
The event has been archived
Archived events are hidden from the main view to keep your list uncluttered. To see them, click Event options and select View archived events. You can unarchive an event from this view if needed.
Filtering events
Use the filter options on the Events page to control which events are shown. You can filter by:
- Past events — Events that have already taken place.
- Future events — Events scheduled ahead of the current date.
- Archived events — Events that have been archived.
- Pinned events — Events you have pinned for quick access.
- Form — Filter by a specific form to see only events associated with that form.
Bulk actions on selected events
Select one or more events using the checkboxes, then choose from the following bulk actions:
- Print selected — Generates and prints a site report for all selected events.
- Close selected — Closes the selected events. Field users will no longer be able to fill in data for these events from the mobile app.
- Open selected — Reopens closed events so field users can resume filling in data from the mobile app.
- Move selected to folder — Organises the selected events into a folder within the project.
- Delete selected — Permanently deletes the selected events. Use this only if the events were created in error, as deletion cannot be undone. If you simply don't want events to appear in the main list, use archive instead.
Actions on individual events
Each event has an action menu (three bars icon) with the following options:
- Edit event — Edit the event name, scheduled date, and any other details set during event creation.
- Close event — Closes the event so field users cannot submit data for it from the mobile app.
- Archive event — Hides the event from the main events list. Archived events can still be viewed by selecting View archived events from the Event options menu.
- Pin event — Pins the event to the top of your events list for quick access. Pinned events can be filtered using the Pinned events filter.
- Combine events — Merges the form data from one event into another. Useful when data from multiple events needs to be consolidated into a single record.
- Move event to folder — Moves the event into a folder to keep your events list organised.
- Assign location — Links the event to a specific location from your project's location list.
Deleting an event
If an event was created by mistake or contains test data you want to remove entirely, you can delete it permanently. Click the three bars icon next to the event and select Delete event.
Note: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you just want to hide an event from the main view, use Archive event instead.
