Dynamic Event Names

How to automatically name repeating events using event numbers and dates

Overview

When scheduling a series of repeating events, you may not want every event to have the same name. Dynamic event names let you build a naming pattern that automatically updates for each event in the series — using the event's number in the sequence, its date, or both.

Scheduling Repeating Events

1. Log in at https://app.qnopy.com/portal/en/login, open your project, and go to the Events tab. 
2. Click Schedule Event. 
3. Fill in the form name, event name, and scheduled date and time. 
4. Expand the Advanced Features section. 
5. Under Repeat, select how often the event should recur — Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. 
6. Set the Number of events to indicate how many events should be created in the series.

Adding Dynamic Event Name Components

When setting up a repeating event, you'll see a Dynamic Name Components option next to the event name field. This lets you insert automatic placeholders into your event name that update for each event in the series.

You can type any fixed text in the event name field and insert one or both of the following dynamic components anywhere in the name:

• Event number — Automatically numbers each event in the series (e.g. 1, 2, 3...).
• Event date — Automatically inserts the date of each event.

You can add dynamic components anywhere in the name and combine them with fixed text. Click Event Number or Event Date to insert the component at your cursor position — the text will autofill into the name field.

Note: The event name field will show the name for the first event only. Each subsequent event in the series will be created with the correct values filled in automatically.

Examples

If you schedule four weekly events with the name "Timesheet #" and add the Event Number component:

• Timesheet #1 - Atlanta Office
• Timesheet #2 - Atlanta Office
• Timesheet #3 - Atlanta Office
• Timesheet #4 - Atlanta Office

If you schedule three daily events starting 02/17/2025 with the name "Sampling Event on" and add the Event Date component:

• Sampling Event on 02/17/2025
• Sampling Event on 02/18/2025
• Sampling Event on 02/19/2025

Viewing Future Events

After scheduling, you'll only see the first event in the default events view. To view the entire series:

1. On the Events page, click Event options.
2. Select View future events.

All events in the series will appear in the list with their dynamically generated names.

To return to the standard view, click Event options again and select View past events.
